    UPDATE from John Mackey
    Sandy Lewis, Feb 11, 05 9:51 AM.

I (John) wanted to get you an update as soon as possible, especially before any of you send letters out.  God has done some amazing things!  We will be sending a newsletter out in the next couple of days with more details, but I wanted to let you all know right away what God showed me, and then led me to do.

On Saturday morning, the day after our board meeting, I went down to Kampong Som to see about renting a house for an orphanage and one for my family as per our board meeting.  I drove every street in the city and found only two houses that were for rent.  I rented one of the houses for my family (2 year lease with a two year option).  The other house was too small to be of any use.

I also found a guest house for rent.  It is being used as a brothel for prostitutes.  20 rooms, 20 bathrooms, two small houses, 3 classroom size buildings, water well, 60x30 foot covered patio area with concrete slab, large grassy area for playground, trees, shrubs, parking, and...about 3 acres.

I rented it on a three year lease: $1000 down, $400 a month!  The leases on the orphanage and my house will begin March 1st.

It is a definite "fixer-upper", and Keita, you wanted a "hands-on" project for the team?  We are going to stay for 5 nights in Kampong Som, and will work on the facility for 4 days.  I will be sending you a separate email with details of the project, and with a supplies list for the project (such as work gloves, rubber cleaning gloves, etc).

I have no question in my mind that this is totally the Lord's doing, and I think you will agree even more when you read the newsletter that details the way God worked it all out.
